SOFT MM-3/BB-3

Our SOFT mallet is designed for long passages which involve rolls and swells. They provide a very soft attack which allows the tonal qualities of the drum to shine through the music while permitting the percussionist to articulate single strokes when necessary.

The core of the mallet head is made of hardwood (maple or beech), wrapped in a layer of neoprene, which is then carefully covered with two layers of high-quality low-density German felt. The shaft is constructed from carefully selected hardwoods (maple or birch) and is covered with a silicone anti-vibration sleeve to increase control and enhance comfort.

Explanation of letters, numbers and colors :

MM- Maple shaft, Maple head.

MB- Maple shaft, Beech head.

BB-Birch shaft, Beech head.

The numbers which follow the shaft/head designation refer to the number of layers of felt.

The color coded shaft ends make selection of the proper mallet simple and intuitive. As the color on the end of the shaft progresses to darker shades, the density of the head increases, so lighter shaft ends are softer, and darker shaft ends are harder.

MEDIUM HARD MM-2/BB-2

The MEDIUM HARD mallet is our most versatile choice. While it can create a selective, warm sound, it retains the ability to play through louder passages with a clear attack, solid dynamics, and strong articulation.

HARD MM-2/BB-2

Our HARD mallet is perfect for when the music demands articulate strokes with clear precise attack. These are the mallets you want to be holding when you are asked to play fast and challenging passages.   These mallets are especially popular for those percussionists who play modern, contemporary, and syncopated pieces.

The shaft is constructed from carefully selected hardwoods (maple or birch) and is covered with a silicone anti-vibration sleeve to increase control and enhance comfort.

STACCATO WARM

The STACCATO WARM mallet is best suited to musical pieces where a fast attack is desired, but where a warmer tone is necessary. These are the mallets you want when the music demands tight rhythmic articulation mixed with extreme dynamics. The core of this mallet head is made of hardwood (beech or maple), covered with a 2mm layer of rubber, a single 1mm layer of high-quality high-density German wool, and finished with a 2mm layer of high density wool/cashmere. The shaft is constructed from carefully selected hardwoods (maple or birch) and is covered with a silicone anti-vibration sleeve to increase control and enhance comfort.

ULTRA STACCATO

If your music demands clear attack and articulation without the sharp note of wood on plastic, the ULTRA STACCATO mallet should be your choice. The core of the mallet head is made of hardwood (beech or maple), wrapped in a thin (2mm) layer of rubber, and then covered with a single 1mm layer of high-density wool. The shaft is constructed from carefully selected hardwoods (maple or birch) and is covered with a silicone anti-vibration sleeve to increase control and enhance comfort. The rebound on these mallets is superb, which will enhance your speed and stick control.

WOOD FLANNEL

Our WOOD FLANNEL mallet completes the lineup with the most sharp and aggressive mallet offered by Palisso Percussion. This mallet produces a very sharp and aggressive sound, and is ideal for pieces which require extreme speed and articulation. They are also the preferred mallet for those occasions where solos are required and your sound is expected to rise above the orchestra.
